An overview of the Validation toolset

The Nautical toolbox's Validation toolset provides tools that allow you to publish S-57 exports and to repair nautical data.

Tools in the Validation toolset

Tool	Description
Parse S-58 Log File	Parses log files produced by the Validate S-57 File tool and third-party validation software against S-58 (recommended ENC validation checks). Critical errors and warnings are imported as records in a Data Reviewer table.
Publish S-57 Product	Publishes or deletes S-57 export data. Products that can have their exports either published or deleted with this tool include Electronic Navigational Charts (ENC), Additional Military Layers (AML), and Inland Electronic Navigational Charts (IENC).
Repair Nautical Data	Runs selected data repair processes on a database with the Nautical schema. Processes include repairing noncollocated structure-equipment features, deleting orphaned FREL and COLLECTIONS records, resolving blank or duplicate LNAM attribute values, and resolving blank or duplicate NOID values.
Validate S-57 File	Validates an ENC or IENC file and generates an .S58 file as a result.
Validate Sample S-57 File	Validates a sample ENC product and produces three outputs: the ENC product, an S-58 log file, and a shapefile.
