An overview of the Map Document toolset

The Map Document toolset contains tools that help you create product specific map documents and update graphic elements on maps.

Tools in the Map Document toolset

Tool	Description
Create Rapid Graphic	Esri Defense Mapping cartographic production tool that creates a complete map document (.mxd file) based on a specified map product. This tool uses an area of interest (AOI) feature, a product geodatabase, and elevation data to create a product-specific map document.
Populate Map Sheet Info	Populates text in graphic elements on an ArcMap layout. Text is populated with feature attribute values from a selected area of interest (AOI) feature in the map. The tool searches each graphic element for tagged (<tag></tag>) text. It compares tagged text to values in the PopMapInfo table. Any matching values are replaced in the graphic element with an attribute value from the selected AOI feature.
