In this configuration, you share settings like scale, extent, and size across multiple data frames. This allows you to enforce rules from basemap data frames to inset map data frames.
You can save data frame rules to an XML file and reuse or distribute them based on your organization's specifications. You can load and save them in a product library to automate data frame settings.
