Extending line features by drawing a sketch

The Extend/Trim Selected Line With Edit Sketch tool allows you to extend or trim a line. If the digitized sketch does not cross the selected features, the line is extended to the digitized sketch, regardless of the topological direction of the sketch.

A Line That Has Been Extended

1. 启动 ArcMap。
2. 如有必要，可在地图中加载数据。
3. 在主菜单上，单击自定义 > 工具条 > 生产编辑。
4. 单击生产编辑工具条上的启动生产编辑按钮 。

   注：

5. Select the set of polylines to extend.
6. Click the Extend/Trim Selected Line With Edit Sketch button on the Production Editing toolbar.

   The Sketch tool is enabled.

7. Draw a line on the map display that does not intersect the selected polylines.

The feature is extended to the line drawn on the map.
