Specifying extent for data frame rules

获得 Production Mapping 许可后可用。

If you set a data frame to Allow Scale to vary or Allow Size to vary, you must specify an extent for that data frame. You can set extent to Same as source data frame or choose additional extent options in the Define Extent dialog box.

Clip to shape based on extent clips the active data frame to the extent defined in the source data frame or in the Define Extent dialog box. Features outside the clipped extent will not display.

When you apply data frame rules, the active data frame's extent will reset to the extent defined in those rules.

  1. 启动 ArcMap。
  2. 如有必要,可在地图中加载数据。
  3. Switch to layout view.
  4. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Cartography.
  5. Click the Layout window button Layout window on the Production Cartography toolbar.

    The Layout window appears.

  6. Click the Apply Data Frame Rules button Apply Data Frame Rules on the Layout window.

The Apply Data Frame Rules dialog box appears.

  7. If necessary, click the Source Data Frame drop-down arrow and choose the source data frame.
  8. Click the Properties button Properties.

The Data Frame Rules dialog box appears.

  9. If necessary, click the General tab.
  10. Choose either Allow Scale to vary or Allow Size to vary in the top drop-down list.
  11. Click Specify Extent.

The Define Extent dialog box appears.

    The Define Extent dialog box
  12. Choose one of the following options:
    • Current Visible Extent—Use extent from active data frame.
    • Outline of Features—Derive extent from all, selected, or currently visible features in the Layer list.
    • Outline of Selected Graphic(s)—Derive extent from selected graphic. You must draw a graphic in data view.
    • Custom Extent—Define a custom extent in decimal degrees or display units. Uncheck the Degrees check box to specify display units
  13. Click OK to set the extent type.
