Accessing diagram and display properties

  • Accessing diagram properties
  • Accessing display properties

Diagram Properties are properties that allow you to change the arrangements of elements on the diagram as well as overall symbology of a model.

Display Properties are properties that allow you to change the look and other graphic properties of individual elements in a model.

Accessing diagram properties

There are two ways to access diagram properties: from the Model menu or by right-clicking anywhere in the model.

  1. Click Model > Diagram Properties.
    • You can also right-click anywhere in the model and click Diagram Properties.

This opens the Diagram Properties dialog box with three tabs:

  • General—Affects the model layout
  • Layout—Affects the model layout
  • Symbology—Affects the overall symbology of a model

Accessing display properties

You can change the display properties of either the entire model or an individual element in the model.

To change the properties of an entire model (such as background color), do the following:

  1. Right-click anywhere in the model.
  2. Click Display Properties to open the Display Properties window.
  3. Click the cell next to the property you want to change and type in a new value or choose a new setting from the available options.
  4. Close the Display Properties window.
  5. The changes in the model are displayed as soon as you change the settings.

To change the properties of a single element, do the following:

  1. Select the element, such as a variable, tool, or connector, you want to change.
  2. Right-click the element.
  3. Click Display Properties to open the Display Properties window.
  4. Click in the cell next to the property you want to change and choose a new setting from the available options.
  5. Close the Display Properties window.
  6. The changes in the model are displayed as soon as you change the settings.
