What's included

Esri Roads and Highways 10.3.1 includes four setups. You can install the software for which you have licenses.

Esri Roads and Highways for Desktop

  • Roads and Highways

Esri Roads and Highways for Server

  • Roads and Highways
  • Roadway Characteristics Editor
  • Roadway Reporter

Mapping and Charting Solutions for Desktop

  • Esri Production Mapping for Desktop (includes ArcGIS Data Reviewer functionality)

Getting started

  • Esri Roads and Highways includes both desktop and server extensions. See What's included for a list of extensions.
  • Prior to installing, ArcGIS 10.3.1 for Desktop or ArcGIS 10.3.1 for Server must be installed.
  • Review the Desktop or Server system requirements for the extension.
  • Administrative privileges are required for installation.
  • Download and install the extension. If upgrading, review Upgrading to Roads and Highways 10.3.1. For help, see the corresponding Desktop (see the section Administer ArcGIS for Desktop) or Server installation guide. Optionally, click Help on the first page of the installation wizard.
  • Obtain your software authorization numbers and authorize the software. If using a Concurrent Use license, you'll need an ArcGIS 10.3.1 License Manager, which also supports ArcGIS 10.x Concurrent Use licenses. See the ArcGIS License Manager quick start guide and the License Manager reference guide for more information.

Upgrading to Roads and Highways 10.3.1

The setup is designed to upgrade an existing installation of Roads and Highways. ArcGIS 10.1 to 10.2.2 authorization numbers will work with ArcGIS 10.3.1. If you're installing over a version earlier than 10.1, it must be uninstalled. See the Desktop or Server installation guide for more information.

  • ArcGIS 10.1 through 10.3 authorization numbers will work with ArcGIS 10.3.1.

Obtaining your software authorization numbers

Roads and Highways must be authorized for use.

If needed, your account's primary maintenance contact can obtain authorization numbers for each feature from My Esri. After signing in, click My Organizations > Licensing > Authorizations. Click a product name to obtain its authorization number. Click Show Filter Options to filter the product list. See ArcGIS for Desktop installation guide for information on authorizing Concurrent Use and Single Use features and ArcGIS for Server installation guide for information on authorizing server extensions.

The license version on authorizations eligible for use with ArcGIS 10.3.1 will display as 10.1 – 10.3.1 under Authorizations. For those outside the United States, contact your local distributor for information about your authorization numbers.
