How to add KML network link data into ArcGlobe

Available with 3D Analyst license.

Follow the steps below to use the Add KML Network Link command to add KML services into ArcGlobe. Be sure that you have already added the KML toolbar to the display.

  1. Click the Add KML Network Link Add KML Network Link command.
  2. The Add KML Network Link dialog box appears.
  3. Enter the name to use for the KML layer.
  4. Enter the KML server information for the KML network link.
  5. This information consists of the uniform resource locator (URL) to the KML server and may include trailing parameters.

  6. Click OK.
  7. The KML network link is added to ArcGlobe and appears in the Draped layers category of the table of contents.

  8. Right-click the KML layer and click Zoom to Layer to zoom to the full extent of the KML data.
  9. If your KML network link file contains dynamic content that updates frequently (for example, weather patterns), you can right-click the layer and click Refresh. Automatic refreshing of KML content is not supported in ArcGIS.
Tip:
The Add KML Network Link dialog box retains a list of the last 10 KML network links that you enter.
