Locating a feature in a Notice to Mariners change

The Notice to Mariners dialog box context menu allows you to identify the location of a change on the map display area. The location may or may not describe actual feature geometry. To identify a location, use the Locate command on the context menu.

  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. If necessary, set up the DNC production environment.
  3. Click the Notice To Mariners button Notice To Mariners on the Nautical DNC toolbar.
  4. Navigate to the location of the parsed NGA text file and click Select.

The Notice to Mariners dialog box appears.

  5. If necessary, add or remove fields in the Notice to Mariners dialog box.
  6. Right-click the reference number for the correction and click Locate.

ArcMap zooms to the coordinate point and marks it with a red X marker.

Tip:

It is recommended that you leave the red X marker so that you can keep track of features that may have multiple notices from one text file.
