Follow the steps below to zoom to the separate elements of a KML layer inside ArcGlobe. Be sure to have the KML toolbar already added to the display.
The individual elements that make up a KML layer can also have specific camera positions associated with them. This is known as associated KML Look At information and the camera is positioned defined by such parameters as longitude, latitude, heading, tilt, and range.
If the element does not have associated KML Look At information, ArcGlobe zooms to a calculated extent of that element and its children.
- Click KML Contents to toggle the visibility of the dockable KML Contents window.
- From the KML Contents window, choose the applicable KML layer from the drop-down list and expand the KML node tree.
- Right-click the element in the KML tree structure and click Zoom to KML Node.
The 3D view centers on the selected KML element.
If the element has associated KML Look At information, the view is updated to that location.
