Exposing tool parameters as variables

Exposing a tool parameter as a variable is useful when that parameter must be user specified every time the model is run. Also, if the tool parameter should be available from the model tool dialog box, that parameter must first be made into a variable, then the variable must be set as a model parameter.

To expose a tool parameter as a variable
  1. Right-click the tool and click Make Variable > From Parameter.
  2. Click the parameter to be exposed as a variable in the model.
