About symbolizing lines in ArcGlobe

Available with 3D Analyst license.

In ArcGlobe, you can symbolize line features as 3D textured lines. Use 3D textured lines to turn your line work into realistic roads, fences, or walkways.

Altogether, there are five symbol types to chose from: 3D Texture Line, Hash Line, Cartographic Line, Marker Line and Simple Line. They can be applied to 2D and 3D line features, however the Cartographic Line, Hash Line and Marker Line will only symbolize if the 3D line is rasterized, and draped on the surface of the globe.

Experiment with the different Style References to suit your line purpose. Basic styles are supported but not all style references are appropriate for line features. Style types not suitable for lines will not add to the Style List in the Symbol Selector window.

Note:

ArcGlobe does not honor 3D symbols to symbolize line features.
