About adding ink to your published map

ArcReader markup tools allow you to write notes with digital ink on your published map and share those notes with the map author. Since published maps are read only, ink graphics are stored in an associated .pmfink file. This file is stored in the same directory as the published map. If there is no write access to the published map file location, the .pmfink file will be written to C:\Documents and Data\ESRI\ArcReader\Ink. If markups have been created for a published map, they will be displayed automatically when the map is opened in ArcReader.

The Markup toolbar is designed for use with a tablet PC, although the Markup toolbar can be used on any Windows computer running ArcReader.
