How to control ArcReader startup messaging

  1. Click the Tools menu and click Options.
  2. Click the General tab.
  3. Uncheck the unavailable functionality and inaccessible data message check boxes to turn the messages off.
  4. Click OK.

When these settings are unchecked, the messages will not appear, even if the map references inaccessible data or the map author has disabled functionality.

Tip:

The appearance of time-out warnings can only be controlled by the map author.
