Changing the dimensions of the symbol axes

Available with 3D Analyst license.

You can use the Symbol Property Editor to modify 3D symbol display properties including changing the size of a 3D symbol in all three dimensions separately, or keeping the same aspect ratio.

  1. In the Symbol Property Editor dialog box, click the 3D Character Marker, 3D Marker, or 3D Simple Marker property tab depending on which symbol type you are currently using.
  2. Optionally, uncheck Keep aspect ratio to change the dimensions of individual axes.
  3. Under Dimensions, type a value in the text box for the axis you want to modify.
  4. Click OK.

The dimensions of the symbol are reflected in the 3D Preview area.

Tip:
  • Instead of typing in a number for the size along an axis, you can click the arrows on the right side of the Width (x), Depth (y), or Size (z) boxes.
