Reducing the 3D view extent using a layer

Available with 3D Analyst license.

To help with performance or to work with data that covers disparate areas, you can limit the extent of the data being displayed inside ArcScene by specifying a layer inside the document.

  1. In the ArcScene table of contents, right-click Scene layers and click Scene Properties.
  2. Click the Extent tab.
  3. Click Layer(s) and click the layer you want to use to define the scene extent.
  4. Shown here is the Extent tab of the Scene Properties dialog box set to Layer(s).
Set the full extent to a particular layer, or all the layers in the scene document.
  5. Click OK.
