Rendering a layer only during navigation

Available with 3D Analyst license.

Use the steps below to configure ArcScene to display simple layers only during active navigation of the scene. Having simple, landmark-based layers visible only during navigation allows you to navigate accurately while more complex layers are turned off. Rendering configuration is a convenient way of managing your computer resources.

1. In the ArcScene table of contents, right-click the layer and click Properties.
2. Click the Rendering tab.
3. Click the option Render layer only while navigating.
4. Click OK.
