Summary

Imports Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM) 5.1 schema data into an Aeronautical Information System (AIS) geodatabase.

Note:

This ArcPyProduction function imports data into the AIS schema.

Discussion

AIXM 5.1 data can be imported into an ArcGIS Aviation Charting enterprise geodatabase with the AIS schema. This function decodes the rules and relationships defined in an AIXM 5.1 XML message and re-creates them in the AIS data model. AIXM messages are XML documents that conform to the AIXM XML schema.

This tool requires an enterprise geodatabase with the AIS schema. Use this geodatabase as the workspace. This is the name of the geodatabase where the tool will create data.

Import AIXM 5.1 Message expects input AIXM geometry to be expressed in either EPSG:4326 or OGC:CRS84 coordinate reference systems. The spatial reference of the Target AIS geodatabase should be GCS_WGS_1984 WKID: 4326 Authority: EPSG.

Note:

Optionally, a database can be updated using the AIXM 5.1 run_as_update argument.

This functionality will allow you to import an AIXM 5.1 message into your existing database and will use that message as a data update. This will match features between the new file and your database using the Clientkey_Id field (which corresponds with the gml:identifier field in the AIXM message). If a match occurs, the feature will be updated based on the new message.

Syntax

ImportAixm51 (workspace_path, message_path, {log_path}, {table_list}, {run_as_update})
ParameterExplanationData Type
workspace_path

The path to the connection file for the geodatabase where the AIXM 5.1 data will be imported. This geodatabase must have the AIS data model.

String
message_path

The path to the AIXM XML message to be imported into the AIS database.

String
log_path

The directory that will store the log file that reports errors that have occurred during import.

String
table_list
[table_list,...]

The list of AIXM tables in the AIS data model into which the feature will be imported. By default, all supported features are imported.

String
run_as_update

Overrides default AIXM 5.1 import behavior and updates the database instead of inserting new records.

(The default value is False)

Boolean
