Overview of Setting Parameters

Available with Business Analyst license.

Territory Design contains several options and settings to control the size, shape, and statistical output of territories. Setting these parameters can be applied during the building of a Territory Solution or by modifying the solution after it is built. For example, you can create territories by setting an attribute capacity constraint of 100,000 households and a distance threshold of 50 miles or kilometers. However, you can then apply new parameters such as adding an overall extent to a state or province boundary and applying balancing options to equally distribute statistical attributes across all territories.

The following commands are available for setting parameters:

  • Assign territory centers
  • Balance territories
  • Manage barriers and restricted areas
  • Manage territory indexes
  • Reassign territories
  • Setup attribute capacity and distance constraints
  • Setup distance measurement
  • Set territory extent
