Reassign territories

Available with Business Analyst license.

Territories can be added or reassigned in the following ways:

  • Using right-click to access menus in the map.
  • Accessing the drop-down menu from the Data view within each record.
  • Dragging a territory from the map to the Chart view.

Right-click to access menus

This is the most common way to reassign territory elements from one territory to another. Use the right-click menu within the map.

Reassign to territory

You can choose Add To Territory or Reassign To Territory. The Select Territory dialog box appears displaying all available territories to add or reassign. The existing territory is shown with an owner designation. Information such as the distance from the selected territory, assigned parent territory levels and attribute information is displayed.

You can filter any territory at any column. For example, you can search for territory names or their attributes. This is helpful when there are several territories. You can also build a filter query to refine territory selections.

Use drop-down menus

You can reassign one or more territories from the Territory Design Window Data view using the territory name drop-down menu.

Drag a territory from the map to the Chart view

You can reassign territory elements from the map using the Territory Select tool. Use drag and drop to drag territories from one to another or from the map to the Territory Design Window chart. Available territories, whether point or polygon, appear with a green outline if it is available for reassignment.
