Committing records to the Reviewer table from the map

Available with Data Reviewer license.

You can manually commit records to the Reviewer table. You can select a feature in the map and click the Commit To Reviewer Tablebutton. This allows you to capture errors that might be found from other methods of analysis like visual review, using the results of queries or any tools, like geoprocessing, that run in ArcMap and return selected sets of features.

When this method is used, you can also add notes related to the record and assign it a severity, which indicates the importance of the record. The lower the number, the greater the priority.

Note:

A defined geographic transformation method is recommended when working with map features referenced to a different spatial reference than that defined for the active Reviewer workspace.

Learn more about geographic transformations

  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Data Reviewer.
  3. Start a Reviewer session in one of the following:
    • A file, personal, or SQL Server Express geodatabase
    • An enterprise geodatabase
    • An existing Reviewer workspace
  4. Select a single feature in the map.
  5. Click the Commit To Reviewer Table button Commit To Reviewer Table on the Data Reviewer toolbar.

If you select more than one feature, a message notifies you that only one feature can be selected.

The Commit to Reviewer Table dialog box appears.

  6. Choose a Reviewer status option in the Enter Review Status list.

If you choose Add Feature, Delete Feature, Move Feature, Reshape Line, or Reshape Area, the value appears in the Description text box, but it remains uneditable.

If you choose Custom or Change Subtype to, the Description text becomes editable.

    Tip:

The Review status information appears in the REVIEWSTATUS cell in the Reviewer table.

  7. If necessary, type a description for the Review status in the Description text box.
  8. If necessary, type additional details about the feature in the Notes text box.
  9. If necessary, click the Severity drop-down arrow and choose a value that indicates the priority of the feature that is being committed to the Reviewer table.

The values range from 1 to 5, with 1 being the highest priority and 5 being the lowest.

  10. Click OK.

The record is added to the Reviewer table.
