Panning to a selected feature

Available with Production Mapping license.

When you select a feature on the Update tab in ArcMap and you are using Feature Manager, you can choose to pan to the selected feature. This allows you to see the location of the selected feature without changing the current map scale. For example, you can see where a lake or building is located in relation to other features in the map.

  1. Select features using one of the following tools:
    • The Select Features tool Select Features on the Tools toolbar
    • The Edit tool Edit Tool on the Production Editing toolbar
  2. Right-click a selected feature in the tree view on the Update tab in the Manage Features window, then click Pan To.

When a feature is selected in the tree view, it is displayed in the center of the map.

    Tip:

The Pan To command can be used in conjunction with the Flash command so the selected feature is highlighted when it is selected.
