Saving a view

Available with Production Mapping license.

Once you create a new view using the New View tool, you can save the view to the database location you select in the Views Table Location list on the New View dialog box. You can also save data frame and layer properties to a database, then retrieve them for a current MXD file. This which allows you to manage numerous display templates.

  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Symbology.

    The Production Symbology toolbar appears.

  3. Click the Save View button Save View on the Production Symbology toolbar.

The Save View dialog box appears asking if you want to override the existing view.

  4. Click Yes to overwrite an existing view.

If you click No, the view is not saved.
