Upgrading a cross-reference database to the current version

Available with Production Mapping license.

If you have created a cross-reference database using a previous version of Production Mapping, you can upgrade it to the current version using the Upgrade Cross-Reference command. During the upgrade process, the new tables in the current version of the cross-reference database are added and populated using information in the existing tables.

This tool is enabled when you select a cross-reference database that contains the FeatureClass, FieldNames, and FieldValues tables. If your database does not contain these tables, the tool will not be enabled.

  1. Start ArcCatalog.
  2. If necessary, add the Upgrade Cross-Reference command by doing the following:
    1. Click Tools > Customize.

      The Customize dialog box appears.

    2. Click the Commands tab.
    3. Choose Import Export in the Categories list.
    4. Drag the Upgrade Cross-Reference command to a toolbar.
    5. Click Close.
  3. In the Catalog tree, select the cross-reference database you need to upgrade.
  4. Click Upgrade Cross-Reference.

The cross-reference database is upgraded to the current version.
