Zooming to a selected feature

Available with Production Mapping license.

When you select features on the Update tab in ArcMap and you are using the Feature Manager, you can choose to zoom to the selected features. This allows you to see the full size of the features, regardless of the current map scale. For example, if you have a large built-up area selected in the map, it can be helpful to zoom to the feature so you can see its complete geometry.

  1. Select features using one of the following tools:
    • The Select Features tool Select Features on the Tools toolbar
    • The Edit tool Edit Tool on the Production Editing toolbar
  2. Right-click a selected feature in the tree view on the Update tab on the Manage Features window and click Zoom To.

When a feature is selected in the tree view, the map scale changes to fit the full extent of the selected feature.
