Retiring calibration points

Calibration points can be retired when they are no longer relevant. The original calibration point should be retired by modifying its To Date value, and a new calibration point should be added with updated measure values and location information and a From Date set to the effective date of the change in the route calibration.

  1. Select a calibration point using the Edit button Edit Tool on the ArcGIS Desktop Editing toolbar.

    Note:

Roads and Highways conflict prevention is enabled if a message appears that is related to: acquiring locks, the need to reconcile, or not being able to acquire locks.

  2. Change the To Date attribute to the effective date of the recalibration.
  3. Click the Apply Updates button Apply Updates on the Roads And Highways Editing toolbar.

The existing calibration point will be retired effective as of the calibration point's To Date value. The route is recalibrated by regenerating its shape based on the updated calibration point and its measures. If you set the time view of the LRS Network to an earlier date, you will see the route calibration as it was at that time. Event data will be updated according to each event layer's Calibrate Route rules.

    Note:

You can choose to not apply event behaviors when manually retiring calibration points. This option can be selected in the Advanced LRS Editing Options on the Roads And Highways Editing toolbar and is configurable on an .mxd by .mxd basis. If this option is chosen, no event behaviors are applied, but event shapes are regenerated to align with the route.
