When the Composite schematic layout algorithm is chosen in the Layout Task drop-down list, clicking the Layout Algorithm Properties button on the Schematic Editor toolbar opens its associated properties dialog box as follows:
The parameter values are either those specified by default by Schematics or those specifically set as default for the schematic diagram template related to the active diagram using the Schematic Dataset Editor Layout Task tab for this schematic diagram template.
Select layout task drop-down list
The Select layout task drop-down list contains all the schematic layout algorithms registered on your computer that can be used in the Composite layout. They are listed in alphabetical order. Each algorithm in that drop-down list can compose the Composite layout. To build this Composite algorithm, you must proceed as follows:
- Choose the desired schematic layout algorithm from the Select layout task drop-down list.
- Click the Add button to add that schematic layout algorithm item to the Layout tasks list.
- Repeat these operations for each algorithm you want to have in the Composite algorithm.
Layout tasks list management
The Layout tasks list contains the list of the schematic layout algorithms that are part of the Composite algorithm. The listed algorithms will be run, in the displayed order, each time the Composite algorithm is executed. The following paragraphs detail how to manage this list content:
Editing properties related to a particular algorithm layout
- Choose the desired schematic layout algorithm from the Layout tasks list.
- Click the ellipsis button (...) at the right. A properties page opens.
- Specify the desired parameters.
- Click OK or Apply to close the properties page.
Modifying the algorithm layout order
The layout algorithm items that are part of the Composite algorithm are chained in the sequence order that shown in the Layout tasks list. The Up and Down arrows at the right allow you to redefine this sequence order if needed.
- Select the line corresponding to the algorithm item you want to move to another location.
- Click the Down arrow at the right if you want to move the selected algorithm down one level, or click the Up arrow at the right if you want to move the selected algorithm up one level.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 until your algorithm entries are ordered as desired.
Deleting any algorithm layout
- Choose the desired schematic layout algorithm from the Layout tasks list.
- Click the Delete button at the right.
