Creating a schematic folder

  1. Start ArcCatalog.
  2. Browse the Catalog tree, click the schematic dataset in which you want to create a new schematic folder, then do one of the following:
    • Click the File menu.
    • Alternatively, right-click the desired schematic folder.
  3. Point to New and click Schematic Folder Schematic Folder icon.
  4. Type a name for your new schematic folder.

    Caution:

Schematics enforces the uniqueness of the schematic folder name compared to the name of its schematic dataset and the names of any schematic folder or diagram that already exists at the same level.

For example, in the following situation, the name for the schematic folder that is created cannot be ElecDemo since this is the schematic dataset name. Also, it cannot be Feeders, Inside Plants, nor Test since those names correspond to either a schematic diagram or a schematic folder already existing at the same level.
