Importing workflow and map document associations for the current user

Once associations between task assistant workflows and map documents have been exported, you can import them onto the machines of other Task Assistant Manager users so they can be used by others in the same organization. The import process updates the associations between the workflows and map documents.

Workflow and map document associations can be imported through the Task Assistant window to allow the current user to have the most current associations between workflows and map documents. For example, if the workflows associated with a map document have been changed, importing the settings updates which workflows are associated with the map document.

  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. If necessary, click the Task Assistant button Task Assistant on the Task Manager toolbar to display the Task Assistant window.
  3. Right-click in the Task Assistant window and click Associate Workflow with MXD.
Associate Workflow with MXD dialog box with an MXD and associated workflow
  4. Click Import.

The Select an Association File to Open dialog box appears.

  5. Check the boxes next to the associations you want to import.

    Tip:

You can click Select All or Clear All to check or uncheck all the associations at once.

  6. Click Import.

The workflow and map document associations are imported.

  7. Click Close.

The Associate Workflow with MXD dialog box appears.

  8. Click Close.
