The SERVER_CONFIG system table

The SERVER_CONFIG (sde_server_config in SQL Server and PostgreSQL) table contains initialization parameters and values that largely legacy and/or pertain to ArcSDE application servers, which are no longer supported beginning with ArcGIS 10.3 geodatabases. Of the few parameters that do affect direct connections, most should not need to be altered from their default settings.

The following changes have been made beginning with 10.3 geodatabases to accommodate functionality for the few parameters that did apply to direct connections to the geodatabase:

  • Beginning with ArcGIS 10.3, the geodatabase is not imposing a restriction on the number of connections it accepts; therefore, there is no need to change the CONNECTIONS setting.
  • Parameters that controlled what type of log file tables are used for selection sets can now be altered using the Configure Geodatabase Log File Tables tool.
