Labeling an identified route location with a text graphic

The following steps outline how to label a route location with a text graphic. To learn how to identify a route location, see Identifying route locations.

  1. Right-click a route location and click Label route location.
Shows labeling a route location from the Identify Route Locations Results dialog.
Tip:
  • When a route location is labeled, the text comes from two sources. The route identifier reflects the name of the layer's route identifier field. The measure reflects the description that is displayed on the right panel of the Identify Route Locations dialog box.
  • Right-click anywhere on the right panel of the Identify Route Locations dialog box to see a context menu that allows you to control which route location information is displayed.
  • When you draw or label a route location, ArcMap default symbol properties are used.
