Saving an enclosure as a separate file

You can save a copy of an enclosure outside the metadata if you want to use it outside ArcGIS.

  1. In ArcCatalog, click the ArcGIS item in whose metadata you want to enclose a file.
  2. Click the Metadata Properties button Metadata Properties on the Metadata toolbar.

    The Metadata Properties dialog box opens.

  3. Click the enclosure that you want to save as a separate file.
  4. Click Save As.

    The Save Enclosure dialog box opens.

  5. Navigate to the folder in which you want to save the file.
  6. Type a different name, if appropriate, in the File name text box.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Click Cancel.
