In ArcMap and ArcGlobe you can display faces of a terrain dataset indicating elevation. These steps describe how to display terrain dataset faces by elevation.
- In the table of contents, right-click the terrain layer and select Properties.
- Click the Symbology tab.
- Click Add.
- Click Face elevation with graduated color ramp.
- Click Add.
- Click Dismiss.
- Optionally, click the Color Ramp drop-down arrow and click a new color ramp.
- Optionally, click the Classes drop-down arrow and choose the number of classes.
- Click OK.
The terrain faces are rendered with colors to indicating elevation.
