Add layers from a portal

You can use layers hosted on ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise portals in ArcMap.

By default, ArcMap is connected to ArcGIS Online. To connect to an Enterprise portal, change the portal connection in ArcGIS Administrator. You can connect to one portal at a time.

Once you connect to the correct portal, follow these steps to add layers to your map:

  1. Open the Catalog window and double-click My Hosted Services.
  2. Sign in to the organization if you are prompted to do so.

Once you're signed in, you can see all the layers available to you in the portal.

  3. Choose a layer under My Hosted Services, and drag it to the ArcMap table of contents.
