About working with graphs in the layout view

A graph can be added as an element to the layout in ArcMap. Having graphs on the layout can be extremely useful when making posters or prints for presenting information about your study areas.

Multiple graphs can be added to the layout. These graphs can be the same graph copied multiple times or distinct graphs associated with various datasets in your map.

Any changes applied to the graph are reflected in these copies. Graphs shown on a layout can update automatically as you change the selected features or attributes in the layer on which the graph is based.

Sometimes you might want to create a fixed version of a graph to show how different features compare. To do this, you can copy the graph and paste it on the layout as a graphic entity for display only. Although it looks just like the original graph, it is not listed in Graph Manager, and you can only change certain appearance properties.
