00123: Shape field is not visible

The shape field for this layer is not visible and you are publishing an ArcGIS Online hosted service with feature access capabilities.

Solutions

• Make the shape field visible.
  1. Right-click the layer in the table of contents and click Properties.
  2. Click the Fields tab.
  3. Check the box next to the shape field. When this box is unchecked, the field is not visible.
• Remove the layer.

Data is loaded onto the Azure cloud platform when publishing a feature access capable service to ArcGIS Online hosted services. In order to properly draw and query map features it is required that the shape field be visible. The shape field contains geometry for the corresponding feature.
