Moving a topology element

You can use the Topology Edit tool to select and move topology elements. When you move an edge, all features that are connected to the selected edge stretch and move to maintain connectivity.

Moving a topology edge

However, if you do not want the other features to update, move the edge by detaching and reconnecting it.

  1. Click the Topology Edit tool Topology Edit Tool on the Topology toolbar.
  2. Click the topology edge or node you want to move.
  3. Drag the edge or node to a new location. Edge segments stretch to connect the edge's endpoints to their previous positions, where they are shared.
