Labeling features in the SoundP layer

Labels display an attribute value next to a feature and are useful when creating quality control plots.

The Label SoundP Layers tool displays a label from an attribute in the upper-right corner of the feature and changes the feature symbol. The SoundP label expression labels your Hydrographic Depth (HDP) or Hydrographic Drying Height (HDH) fields based on the Sounding Category (SND) value. It displays numbers to one decimal, rounding 0.25 and 0.75 to the next highest single decimal.

  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. If necessary, set up the DNC production environment.
  3. Click the Label SoundP Layers button Label SoundP Layers on the Nautical DNC toolbar.

The features in the SoundP layer are labeled.

    Tip:

To turn on or off labels, right-click the layer and check or uncheck Label Features.
