Editing grid components

Available with Production Mapping license.

You can edit grid components from an XML file or in grid layers that have been loaded into ArcMap.

  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. Click the Grids and Graticules Designer window button Grids and Graticules Designer window on the Production Cartography toolbar.
  3. Click the Open button Open or right-click in the Grids and Graticules Designer window and choose Refresh to display the current grid layer loaded in the current ArcMap session.
  4. In the tree view, right-click the grid component to edit and click Properties.

    The properties dialog box appears for the selected component.

  5. Change appropriate settings for the component.
  6. When edits are complete, click the Grids and Graticules Designer window.
  7. Click the Dataset button to set a feature dataset for the grid.
  8. Click the Create button Create Grids or the Save button Save on the Grids and Graticules Designer window.
Tip:
Edits made to grid components are saved as features when you click the Create button Create Grids. Edits made to grid components are saved to an XML file when you click the Save button Save.
