Radar Calibration function

Overview

The Radar Calibration function is used to calibrate RADARSAT-2 imagery in a mosaic dataset or as a raster product. Calibration is performed on radar imagery so that the pixel values are a true representation of the radar backscatter.

Notes

Radar calibration is not available for RADARSAT-2 SSG and SPG products.

The radar calibration depends on the following lookup table files that are normally shipped with the product:

• lutBeta.xml
• lutGamma.xml
• lutSigma.xml

Parameters

Parameter	Description
Input Raster	The input raster.
Calibration Type	The type of calibration to be performed. Beta-nought—The function returns the radar reflectivity per unit area in slant range. This is the default calibration type. Sigma-nought—The function returns the radar reflectivity per unit area in ground range. Results are 32-bit floating-point values commonly in the range of 0.0 to 1.0. No data clipping is performed if this option is selected. Gamma—The function returns the radar reflectivity per unit area in the plane perpendicular to the direction of measurement. None
