Saving an abbreviation dictionary

1. Ensure that you have the Maplex Label Engine enabled and that you have an abbreviation dictionary either created or loaded.
2. On the Labeling toolbar, click Labeling > Abbreviation Dictionaries.
3. Click the Dictionary Name drop-down arrow and click an abbreviation dictionary.
4. Click Options.
5. Click Save To File if you want to save to a dictionary file.

Click Export To Database Table if you want to save to a table in a database.

6. Navigate to the location where you want to save the abbreviation dictionary file or table.
7. Type a name.
8. Click Save.
9. Click OK.
