Installing ArcGIS Workflow Manager (Classic) Desktop

Installing ArcGIS Workflow Manager (Classic) Desktop

Prerequisite:

Before installing ArcGIS Workflow Manager (Classic) Desktop, close all applications on your computer and verify that your computer meets the minimum system requirements.

  1. Start the installation program by double-clicking the setup.exe in the installation package.
  2. Click Next on the Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for ArcGIS Workflow Manager <version> for Desktop dialog box.

    The License acceptance dialog box appears.

  3. After reviewing the agreement, click the check box to accept and click Next.

    The Setup dialog box appears detailing the features that will be installed. The disk requirements for the features can be checked by selecting the features and clicking Space.

    Note:

    All the features will be installed by default in the same location as the ArcGIS Desktop.

    All the features will be installed by default. You can choose not to install the Developer Kit or Task Assistant Managerby clicking the drop-down arrow and choosing Entire Feature will be unavailable.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Click Install to begin the installation.
  6. Once the installation is complete, click Finish to exit.

    Verify that you have the Workflow Manager (Classic) feature available through ArcGIS Administrator.

    If the license is not available, rerun the ArcGIS Desktop authorization wizard after obtaining a valid license.

Installing the Task Assistant Manager component

During the ArcGIS Workflow Manager (Classic) Desktop installation, you can choose to install the Task Assistant Manager component. The Task Assistant Manager components allow you to use micro workflows in ArcMap or define these workflows. This is broken down into Task Assistant Manager Designer and Task Assistant Manager User, and you can choose which level you want to install after running the installation. The following steps will discuss how to make this change.

  1. After the installation is complete, click Finish to exit.
  2. Click Start menu > All Programs > Task Assistant Manager > Configuration Manager.

    The (Administrator) Configuration Manager dialog box appears.

  3. Click the Settings tab.
  4. Choose the Run as Designer option to enable the Designer mode of Task Assistant Manager.
  5. The default installation is the Task Assistant Manager User.
