Location Referencing for Desktop setup includes the following products:

  • ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing for Desktop
  • Esri Roads and Highways for Desktop

Location Referencing for Server setup includes the following products:

  • ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing for Server
  • Esri Roads and Highways for Server
  • Event Editor (included with Esri Roads and Highways for Server and ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing for Server license)
  • Roadway Reporter

Desktop

Location Referencing has the same system requirements as ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro.

Location Referencing requires the same release of ArcGIS Desktop with the ArcGIS Desktop Standard or ArcGIS Desktop Advanced license level.

Server

Location Referencing has the same system requirements as ArcGIS Server.

Location Referencing requires the same release of ArcGIS Server with the ArcGIS Server Standard or ArcGIS Server Advanced license level.

Web apps

Event Editor

Event Editor does not require ArcGIS Server to be installed, but map services used with Event Editor must be published to a location that has both ArcGIS Server and either ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing for Server or Esri Roads and Highways for Server installed. Event Editor also requires a licensed Portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS Online organizational account.

Roadway Reporter

Roadway Reporter does not require ArcGIS Server to be installed, but map services used with Roadway Reporter must be published to a location that has both ArcGIS Server and Esri Roads and Highways for Server installed. For more information, see Enabling the linear referencing capability.
