A terrain dataset's properties are set throughout various stages of the terrain dataset creation process. The following is a list of the main properties of a terrain dataset:
- Average point spacing
- Height source
- Surface feature type (SFType)
- Terrain pyramid type
- Overview terrain
- Embedded feature classes
- Pyramid resolution bounds
- Anchor points
Consider how each property is represented prior to building a terrain dataset. For more information on each terrain dataset property, see the above topics.
The terrain dataset properties can be accessed in either ArcCatalog or ArcMap . To view the terrain dataset properties in ArcCatalog, right-click the terrain dataset and click Properties. To view the terrain dataset layer properties in ArcMap, right-click the terrain layer in the table of contents and click Properties. The terrain dataset properties in ArcCatalog are more complete and provide more information about terrain schema definition.Feedback on this topic?
