Running a report

You can regenerate existing reports in ArcGIS by using the Run Report command. Running a report allows you to reevaluate the data within a report. To run a report, you need a Report Layout File (.rlf); the report will reload all the data that meets the criteria of the .rlf and immediately open in the Report Viewer. This is the recommended way to report on data that changes over time.

  1. From the View menu, click Reports and click Run Report Run Report.
  2. Choose how you want to load a report by choosing which file type you want to load.

Choose a Report Layout File (.rlf) if you want to run an existing report. Choose a Report Document File (.rdf) if you want to display a static report.

  3. On the Load Report Document dialog box, navigate to the file you want to load.
  4. Click Open.
Tip:

To create and run a report based on a specific query or selection set, use the Dataset Options on the first page of the Report Wizard.
