This topic describes how the current version of ArcGIS for Desktop can be used with a Metadata Service hosted by a previous version of ArcIMS.
Change the owner of a document to assign someone else responsibility for maintaining that document. Only the owner of a document can edit its content, republish it, and delete it. The Metadata Service's administrator must transfer ownership from one user to another.
- Connect to the ArcIMS Server that hosts the Metadata Service you want to modify.
- Double-click the Metadata Service .
- Double-click the ArcIMS metadata folder that contains the related documents, if appropriate.
- Right-click the ArcIMS metadata document for which you want to change the owner.
- Click Change Owner.
If this command is unavailable, you don't have permission to administer this service and you won't be able to complete this task.
The Change Owner dialog box appears.
- Click the New Owner drop-down arrow and click the user who will be the new owner of the document.
- Click OK.
The ArcIMS Metadata Service's administrator can see who owns each document in the ArcCatalog Contents tab in Details view.
